David Carey guitarist, teacher, performer, studio musician, and song writer, has been in the music business for more than 25 years. He has been teaching guitar and bass guitar since 1992. David studied string instruments and piano at the University of St. Thomas and the University of Houston.
Additionally, David studied the Suzuki Method for Guitar earning three teacher Training certificates, and now teaches the Suzuki Method to young students. David is a member of the National Teachers Association, and the Cypress Creek Music Teachers Association. Currently he is recording a new CD with singer Jerry Scott and plays guitar and bass guitar weekly at Lindale Assembly of God Church.
He has years of performance experience with bands including the following artists: the Buddy Brock Orchestra, Archie Bell and the Drells, the Dean Scott Show Band, Willie Nelson, Johnny Winters, and various wedding bands. David welcomes students from ages 7 to adult. He teaches note reading, tablature, and music theory and a variety of styles including Pop, Rock, Rhythm & Blues, Alternative, Worship, Classical, and Country. Recitals are held in the fall and spring semesters for students who would like to participate.
